Government
The City of Paris, TN, located 15 miles west of Paris
Landing, has a Commission-Manager form ofgovernment.
The City Commission, composed of five persons elected
every four years, selects one of the members to serve as
mayor for a two-year term.
There are 31 police officers in the city and 24 firemen.
The city also has zoning regulations The insurance
rating (ISO) for the City of Paris is 4.
Henry County Government
Henry County has three other incorporated places. They
are Cottage Grove, Henry, and Puryear. McKenzie, TN, the
county seat of Carroll County, actually extends into
Henry County in the extreme southwestern portion.
Henry County is governed by a county executive and 18
commissioners. At 98, the county has a large number of
volunteer firefighters. There are 47 police officers and
other staff in Henry County. The insurance rating (ISO)
for the county is 4, the same as the city.

Local School
Systems
In Paris and Henry County, there are two public school
systems. The Paris Special School District operates
three elementary schools with a total enrollment of over
1500 students.
The Henry County
School System has an enrollment of 3200 students. The
county contains three elementary schools. They are
located at Puryear, Henry, and Lakewood (Buchanan). The
elementary schools are for grades K-8.
The E.W. Grove
School houses the 9th grade while Henry County High
School offers 130 courses for grades 10 through 12.
Henry County High School has an enrollment of about 1000
students with 77 teachers and faculty on a 60-acre
campus.
In sports, the programs include football, basketball,
soccer, tennis, golf, track, softball, and baseball. For

Higher Education
The Tennessee Technology Center, located in Paris,
offers twelve different programs ranging from auto body
repair to nursing, as well as supplementary evening
programs requested by business and industry. For more

The Henry County Adult & Community Education Center,
located at 55 Jones Bend Road in Paris, can be reached

The nearest university is located just 20 miles from
Paris Landing in Murray, KY, Murray State University.
Other nearby universities include Tennessee-Martin
(Martin - 45 miles west) and Austin Peay State
University. (Clarksville - 45 miles east).
Healthcare

The Paris Landing
area is served by the Henry County Medical Center.
HCMC is a progressive, integrated health care
organization committed to serving the health care needs
of Henry County and the adjoining region.
Comprised of a 142-bed hospital, the 174-bed Henry
County Healthcare Center (providing residential care and
the Plumley Rehabilitation Unit), an Emergency Medical
Service, an off-site Center for Wellness &
Rehabilitation and a home health and hospice service,
the medical center provides a variety of outpatient
services as well as inpatient care, and serves Henry and
the surrounding counties. The Cancer Care Center of
Henry County offers outpatient radiation and
chemotherapy.
Located in Paris, Tenn., the medical center provides
affordable, high-quality, patient-centered care that
respects the privacy, needs and dignity of each
individual, regardless of their ability to pay.
